Drywall

Holy cow!! 

The drywall is up and my house finally looks like a HOUSE! It looks like MY house.  And I'm in love.

Rocks Rocks and more Rocks!

Hank, Henry, and I have been locked out of the house since the electrical wiring went in.  But just because we couldn't go inside didn't mean we couldn't explore the exterior!

Brick and Siding

I went running with my friend Alex on Tuesday and we decided to be ambitious and run all the way to my new house!  The thought of seeing the progress on my house was definitely strong motivation!  We had stopped running and started walking when we got to a pretty big hill in my neighborhood, but when I reached the curve in the road where I could see this:

I'm home from camp!

I was so excited when I got back from camp to see what had been accomplished!  Look at what I found:

While the homeowner is away...

I spent the last 8 days at Indian Summer Camp for kids with cancer.  While I was gone, my friend Katie took care of the boys for me. She and our friend Elizabeth took pictures for me while I was gone!!  This is what the boys got into:

We have walls!!

I went to see the house today as soon as I got back into town.  Much to my (pleasant) surprise, I have walls!!  Lots of them!! The entire outside of the house is covered with plywood, and all of the inside walls have been framed up!  Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I'll let them do the talking:

The Slab

The boys and I took my friend Sarah out to see the house today and we have a concrete slab!  It looked a lot smaller that I thought it would, but Sarah said her realtor told her that it doesn't start looking like a "home" until the walls go up.  Regardless of how small we thought it looked today, we're very excited to be moving forward with the building process.

The slab has several surface cracks and a bit of water from the rain earlier in the day.  It almost looks like abstract art.
